As Coronavirus presents a risk to human health, the purpose of this statement is to state Transmon Engineering Ltd’s approach to ensuring these risks are minimised for our staff as well as our customers, while ensuring maximum levels of business continuance for our customers. This statement is reviewed regularly and updated with the latest advice and guidance from the NHS, WHO and HM Government.
Coronavirus is the name for a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). This new disease has been named COVID-19 by the World Health Organisation (WHO) which was discovered in China in December 2019. The virus is transmitted between people in droplets from coughing, sneezing or touching. Symptoms are thought to appear between one and fourteen days after contracting the virus.
Early symptoms of Coronavirus infection include:
- A cough
- A high temperature
- Shortness of breath / difficulty breathing
Customers and our staff are strongly recommended to carefully follow the advice below:
- Wash your hands regularly with soap and water, for at least 20 seconds
- Use an alcohol-based sanitiser when soap and water are not available
- Cover your mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing and use tissues – Catch it, Bin it, Kill it
- Avoid shaking hands
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick
- Avoid touching your face, eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands
- Clean and disinfect objects and surfaces which you may have touched regularly.
Transmon Engineering Ltd continues to operate as usual while maintaining a high level of awareness to respond as needed to changes. Our staff is being kept aware of the very latest information on the prevention, symptoms and health service recommendations in regard to Coronavirus.
Our entire workforce has received clear instructions on hand washing, physical contact, and advice on their actions if they develop symptoms, or meeting a person displaying symptoms, in line with the NHS recommendations.
Wherever possible we have taken steps to restrict or avoid face to face interactions and meetings. Switching wherever possible to phone and email. We have closed our offices to any non-essential visitors. Where this is unavoidable visitors entering the company will need to attest to being symptom free. We have extended our daily cleaning to include desk areas, keyboards, phones, etc.
Additionally, all customer’s sites are monitored prior to our engineer’s attending in order to keep our engineers healthy.
Our stock levels are remaining constant and we are in constant contact with our suppliers to ensure that our supply chain remains in line with our current business plan.
Manufacturing capacity remains unaffected as we have not had any indication from our suppliers that there are any substantial delays.
Given the evolving nature of this situation Transmon Engineering is meeting regularly and will take necessary steps to ensure the very latest government advice is followed and communicate to our staff and customers.
All business international travel has been suspended until further notice.
Staff returning from affected areas are under guidance to self-isolate (stay indoors, avoid contact with other people) if returning from infected areas.
